Do we really need a Library since we have the Internet?

As a Librarian, I hear this question quite often. The answer is, "YES!" Before books can be put into print they go through a very thorough process of being reviewed, revised, edited, verified, and proofread. However, anyone can write anything on the Internet! Just because you find it on a webpage does not mean that it is accurate or spelled correctly! There are many places on the Internet that don't even exist and that is why it is so important to back your Internet facts up with book or some sort of written media facts.
Also, the Media Center does have more to offer than just books. Librarians know how to use databases and search terms to help you find what you need as well as able to teach research skills and how to cite your sources!
So, as we evolve, so to does the Library. It may change the way it looks and how it works but I feel that we will always need one!
